There is no shortage of accommodation options in Chicago! But MPIG attendees can access discounted rooms at these three conveniently located hotels:

Directions to Zoo: The 76 bus stops right outside hotel door at Diversey and Orchard – take the 76 bus to the Canon and Nature Museum drive stop (in front of Nature Museum), then walk South on Stockton drive and cross Fullerton Ave. to get to zoo entrance (approx. 10 minutes) — Map

Directions to Zoo: Walking distance to zoo; walk across Clark street to the park, then walk across park to Stockton drive, then continue North on Stockton drive to zoo entrance (approx. 5 minutes) — Map

Directions to Zoo: 151 bus from the corner of Lakeshore and Goethe to Stockton and Webster – 9 stops (approx. 12 minutes) — Map

  • For the more budget-minded: Getaway Hostel is conveniently located just 0.8 miles from Lincoln Park Zoo.

Directions to Zoo: Walk east on Arlington and turn right on Clark, then take Clark south to Belden and turn left; will run into zoo at Belden and Stockton drive (approx. 12 minutes) — Map

Café Brauer: Big patio on Nature Boardwalk, just outside of zoo gate

R.J. Grunts: American style food, good burgers and milkshakes

Gemini: Somewhat upscale; nice wine and drink list

Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company: Pizza pot pies and other Italian food

The Kennison: Below Hotel Lincoln; upscale American food 

J Parker: Rooftop bar and restaurant on top floor of Hotel Lincoln

Ranalli’s: American style pizza with big patio

Evette’s: Lebanese food 

More food on Clark St (within walking distance of zoo, approx. 10 minutes): Five guys, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Sultan’s Market (Mediterranean food), Collectivo Coffee, Del Seoul (Korean tacos), Cafecito (Cuban food). 

There is also a farmer’s market, Green City Market, on Saturday mornings directly across from Hotel Lincoln in Lincoln Park. Opens at 7 am and has smoothies and breakfast pastries to go.
