This year, we’re doing something a bit different – we are pleased to invite you to the 47th Meeting of the American Society of Primatologists and the 22nd meeting of MPIG, to be held 17-20 September 2025 (Wednesday-Saturday) at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel. We are also pleased to honor this year’s MPIG distinguished primatologist, Dr. Tony Goldberg.
While there will be a few changes to the traditional MPIG format, we have made sure to keep the timing (Friday evening and Saturday) and we will still have MPIG-focused poster and podium sessions with the same MPIG submission process (more details will be available as the meeting gets closer). The joint meeting provides an opportunity for MPIG members to attend the full ASP meeting and present their research as part of ASP, including the publication of meeting abstracts after the conference.
If you’d like to have your poster or podium presentation considered for the full ASP meeting, rather than the MPIG-focused sessions, abstracts are due Friday, April 11. See the ASP Call for Abstracts page for more information on abstract requirements. You must register for the conference to submit an abstract to ASP and you should plan to attend the full ASP conference. If you prefer to present at an MPIG session, those deadlines will be announced later this year. Note: please do not submit the same abstract to ASP and MPIG.
In terms of registration, everyone should register for the meeting now in the spring to get the early-bird rates (available until June 30), even if you are submitting an MPIG-only abstract (with a later deadline). MPIG students will get a reduced rate to attend the MPIG meeting only, while faculty need to register to attend the joint ASP-MPIG meeting at ASP prices. We have submitted a list of MPIG student members to ASP. If you have a new member, please email us, and let us know.
Questions? Feel free to reply to this email or reach out to the Chair of the ASP Program Committee, Ashley Edes (program@asp.org) or MPIG (Midwestprimates@gmail.com).
Rather than posting here, we request that you rely on the ASP webpage for information, registration and abstract submission.
Hope to see you there!
